Axis Moon bends genres like grunge, psychedelic rock, and stoner rock into one heavy alternative energy, driven by huge riffs, swirling breakdowns and walls of sound. Drawing influence on bands like Soundgarden, Queens of the Stone Age, and All Them Witches; Axis Moons sound captivates a refreshing yet familiar mystique. A mystique founded on rawness and tenacity.
From the city of Wellington, NZ (though all originally hailing from the mighty Taranaki) the 4 piece coterie formed early on in 2025. Born of a deep brotherhood running back 6+ years since playing in high school bands, the members of Axis Moon share a connection that brings about a unique chemistry to their new reformation. Members of the group have shared stages with bands like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Barnaby Weir, and Koizilla.
Currently with two single tracks released, Axis Moon anticipates their debut album to go live as of October 2026 accompanied by a music video.
